Winter Storm Bringing Widespread Hazardous Weather to the Eastern U.S.

A rapidly-intensifying winter storm continues to bring heavy snow, high winds, and blizzard conditions over the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes through today. Light Snow

A compact low pressure system tracked through the Ohio Valley from the afternoon on the 23rd into the early morning hours on the 24th. Widespread rain changed to a brief period of light snow on the backside of the low pressure system as it began to pull away from the region. This resulted in a swath of light snow which accumulated to an inch or inch and a half across western portions of the local area.
