Widespread Rain from Texas to the Central Appalachians; Heavy to Excessive Rainfall in Southern California and the Southwest

Scattered thunderstorms and widespread showers are expected from the Texas coast to the central Appalachians today. Heavy to excessive rainfall will continue in southern California into the Desert Southwest through Saturday. Severe Weather - August 25, 2020

Several clusters of thunderstorms moved southeast through the region on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 25, 2020. These storms developed in a very hot and humid air mass, favorable for producing downbursts (straight-line winds). A few storms also produced severe hail.
