Watching Hurricane Erin; Heavy Rainfall Threat for Upper Midwest; Heatrisk for Mississippi Valley

Hurricane Erin continues to track westward with its outer bands bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds for Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands. Life-threatening surf and rip currents are occurring and will spread across the Atlantic coasts this week. Severe Weather, Tornadoes, and Flooding

During the early morning hours on March 6, a line of severe storms progressed into west-central Ohio, producing several reports of wind damage and two tornadoes in Darke County, OH, one of which tracked into far western Shelby County, OH. Another round of storms progressed into the area about 24 hours later into early on the 7th, producing instances of heavy rain and flooding and several reports of wind damage as well.
