A significant heat wave is underway for the Intermountain West, Northern Plains, and Upper Great Lakes, peaking in intensity through midweek and lingering across parts of the Northern Plains and Midwest until this weekend. Several clusters of thunderstorms moved across the area from early afternoon through early evening, producing wind damage in a few locations. One supercell thunderstorm also produced hail to about 2.5" in diameter in Fairfield County, Ohio.
