Rain Coming to Drought-Stricken Southern U.S.

A storm tracking across the Southern U.S. will bring heavy to excessive rainfall over portions of west-central Texas into tonight then from central Texas through the central Gulf Coast on Friday. Scattered showers are expected Friday, with the greatest chances in the northern parts of the area. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms, and some of the showers could produce small hail. High temperatures are forecast to range from the low 50s to low 60s.
Low temperatures will fall into the low to mid 30s both Saturday and Sunday mornings, with daytime high temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s.
After a brief warm-up early next week, temperatures will likely stay below normal through the second week of May.
