Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rain will impact portions of the central Plains into the Upper Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic through the weekend. A stretch of unusually hot and humid weather is expected across portions of the central U.S. and the Southeast beginning this weekend and continuing through next week. Two main rounds of thunderstorms: Afternoon to early evening and another
round tonight (Sunday night). At least some severe threat with both
rounds, however greater severe threat with the first round. Damaging winds
and isolated tornadoes will be the main severe threats, however isolated
hail cannot be ruled out. Flash flooding is a concern given high rates of
rainfall in a short amount of time and also multiple rounds of heavy
rain. The flash flood concern will be present for both rounds, but
especially a concern overnight. Flood threat will continue into Monday
morning.
