Snow Squalls in the Northeast U.S. on Thursday; Heavy Rain Along the Gulf Coast

An arctic cold front will move through the Great Lakes and Northeast on Thursday, bringing moderate to heavy snow, strong winds, and possible whiteout conditions through Thursday afternoon. Our graphicast of Thursday's Borderland weather. Storm system moves out in the AM hours. Cold front through the region. Temperatures cooler by about 10-12 degrees, and topping out slightly below the daily average. Skies clearing as drier air moves back in from the NW and N. Possibly some linger light flurries over the Sacs early, then dry all areas. Winds much lighter. North and northwest favored, but areas could see light and variable winds. Speeds in the 5 to 10 mph range.
Cool to start for Thursday, behind the latest cold front. Then quickly warming back up to seasonal normals. Getting warmer mid-week next week. Nights will be chilly and near seasonal averages.
