Severe thunderstorms will continue tonight from Texas to the Central Gulf Coast, with scattered damaging winds and large hail as the main threats. A medium (25%-45%) chance of showers/storms develops this afternoon and evening. Rain chances continue increasing overnight, with a medium (35%-55%) chance for rainfall accumulation of 1.00" or greater by tomorrow afternoon, especially over the southeast Permian Basin into Terrell County. There is the potential for flash flooding in heavier or more persistent storms. Remember when encountering flood waters on the road: turn around, don't drown!
Increasing rain chances this afternoon and evening and cooler temperatures behind a cold front today. Strong storms are again possible over southern and southeastern portions of the area, posing the threat for hail, heavy rainfall, and damaging winds.
