High Surf Advisories and Coastal Flood Advisories have been issued for the Central Coast, Ventura Coast, and Los Angeles Coasts due to a combination of large breaking waves from Wednesday to Saturday and the high tides Thursday and Friday morning. As for the Santa Barbara south coast, a Beach Hazards statement is in effect for elevated surf.
High Surf will impact Southwest California Wednesday through Saturday, and combine with increased morning high tides on Thursday and Friday to bring the risk of coastal flooding to the Central Coast, Ventura Coast, and Los Angeles Coast. During this time, there is an increased risk of ocean drownings from the large breaking waves, strong rip currents, and dangerous waves on rocks and rock jetties. If near the beach, make sure to be near lifeguards, keep an eye on the ocean and waves at all times, and if at all possible remain away from the water and jetties.
