An extended period of dangerous heat is expected through the weekend for all areas except the beaches. Afternoon temperatures will climb into the upper 90s to 110 with very warm overnight lows in the mid 60s to mid 70s. Moderate to high heat risk for heat illness, especially for people without cooling systems and populations sensitive to heat. Along with the dangerous heat, critical fire weather conditions are expected through Saturday for interior sections. If any fire ignition occurs, conditions will be favorable for extreme fire behavior and rapid fire growth.
