Extreme Heat and Fire Weather Conditions in the West; Heavy Rain in the Southeast; Poor Air Quality

Extreme heat will begin to peak across the Desert Southwest. Multiple days of hot, dry and windy conditions are expected to bring fire weather concerns for portions of the Four Corners region into the central Great Basin and Rockies. In Milwaukee it was the 3rd warmest April on record and 6th wettest. Precipitation was 6.23 inches, which was 2.67 inches above normal. It Madison it was the 8th wettest April on record. Precipitation was 5.3 inches, which was 1.9 inches above normal.

Across southern WI as a whole, rainfall was 1-2.7 inches above normal. 

 

Temperature was 5.3 degrees above normal at Milwaukee and 3.4 degrees above normal at Madison. Across southern WI as a whole, temperature for April was 3-5 degrees above normal.
