Lake-Enhanced Cold Front

A cold front raced down the length of Lake Michigan Thursday afternoon and pushed inland across eastern portions of Wisconsin. The front brought rapid temperature falls of 16 to 18 degrees in a matter of minutes on gusty northeast winds of 25 to 30 mph, mainly to lakeside locations. Below is a loop of the front moving across southern Wisconsin as seen on reflectivity images from the NWS Milwaukee Sullivan WSR 88-D.

Here are some of the more dramatic temperature falls that occurred from this "pneumonia-type" cold front.
