Coastal Threats for the East and Gulf; Record Warmth for the Central U.S.

Persistent onshore flow across the Southeast and portions of the mid-Atlantic will keep the risk of rip currents through the weekend. Rainfall could be locally heavy across Florida, especially along the eastern shoreline. Meanwhile, record warmth for portions of the Plains and Midwest with elevated fire concerns. The National Weather Service webpages, especially at the local level (each NWS office), continue to experience technical difficulties. Technicians at the national level are working to resolve this issue.

The Point-and-Click (click your location on the map for the forecast) is not working right now.

 

Graphics such as the Weather Story, Situation Report, and Graphical Nowcast are not posting properly to the local pages (www.weather.gov/mkx).

 

The Watch/Warning/Advisory map is displaying the correct hazards but may not update in a timely manner.  You can also access the information from this alternative website:
