Areas of Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall Thursday

Severe thunderstorms capable of large to very hail and damaging winds are possible from parts of the northern High Plains into lower elevations of the northern and central Plains Thursday afternoon into night. More storms are expected to develop across central WI this afternoon, then slide into southern WI during the evening into tonight. A few of these storms may become severe, with a risk for strong winds, hail, and heavy rain.

 

Timing:

Strong to severe storms should enter southern Wisconsin from the northwest between 6 and 8 pm, before moving towards the Milwaukee and Madison areas between 9 and 11pm, and finally reaching the Racine and Kenosha areas between 11pm and 1am.
