Major Winter Storm to Bring Heavy Snow and Ice Impacts; Dangerously Cold in the North-Central U.S.

A large, long-duration winter storm is expected to bring widespread heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain from the Southern Rockies/Plains into the Mid-South beginning Friday, spreading eastward to the Mid-Atlantic and New England this weekend. Overview

A line of thunderstorms moved across southern WI during the early morning hours of April 20. The Sheboygan area got some 1 inch hail. A swath of 50-60 mph winds moved across southern Waukesha county, eastern Walworth County, southern Milwaukee County and into Racine County. Many trees were snapped and uprooted. The hardest hit area was eastern Racine County where winds were about 60-70 mph.
