There has been an important change to Flash Flood Warnings (FFWs). When we expect or observe higher severity flash flood impacts, these warnings will receive CONSIDERABLE or CATASTROPHIC damage threat tags.  Wireless emergency alerts (WEAs) will be limited to ONLY those FFWs with those damage threat tags. In the past, all FFWs triggered WEAs, which are free notifications delivered to your mobile device. For more information, go to https://www.weather.gov/media/wrn/FFW-IBW-factsheet.pdf.
