Tropical Storm Isaias in the Gulf; California Heat Continues

Tropical Storm Isaias is forecast to track toward the central U.S. Gulf Coast while strengthening into a hurricane on Thursday. Residents from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle should closely monitor the latest updates. Much higher than typical October temperatures will continue across much of California through midweek. Due to the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms today, the Routine Weekly Test of NOAA All-Hazards radio is postponed until tomorrow, Thursday, March 20th around noon.

Also, there will be maintenance to the Madison NOAA Weather Radio transmitter (WXJ-87, 162.550mhz, Channel 7) early on Friday morning between midnight and 6am. The transmitter will be down during this time. Alternative nearby weather radio stations to use during this time are:
