Tropical System in the Gulf; Dangerous Heat and Air Quality Concerns; Severe Thunderstorms for Midwest to mid-Atlantic

Tropical system in the Gulf expected to gradually strengthen the next couple of days off the Florida Panhandle and Alabama coasts. Instances of flash flooding will be possible through Thursday along the eastern and central Gulf Coast. Due to the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms today, the Routine Weekly Test of NOAA All-Hazards radio is postponed until tomorrow, Thursday, March 20th around noon.

Also, there will be maintenance to the Madison NOAA Weather Radio transmitter (WXJ-87, 162.550mhz, Channel 7) early on Friday morning between midnight and 6am. The transmitter will be down during this time. Alternative nearby weather radio stations to use during this time are:

NOAA All-Hazards Routine Weekly Test Postponed until Tomorrow
