Dangerous Heat in the Central and Eastern U.S.; Severe Thunderstorms in the Plains to the Upper Midwest

A significant and dangerous heat wave will expand from the Central U.S. into the Eastern U.S and linger through much of the work week. Numerous daily record highs and warm lows are likely. Chattanooga NOAA Weather Radio Transmitter, WXK-48, serving Bledsoe, Bradley, Hamilton, McMinn, Marion, Meigs, Monroe, Polk, Rhea, Roane, and Sequatchie counties of southeast Tennessee, and Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Gordon, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield counties of northwest Georgia will be off the air for scheduled maintenance on Saturday, September 5th.
