Heavy Rainfall to Bring Flooding Threat to California; Heavy Snow in the Sierra

A strong atmospheric river will bring heavy rainfall to California through the holiday week. The heaviest rainfall is expected on Wednesday in the Los Angeles Basin. TVA Lake Basins Rainfall Information

This page provides information showing the rainfall distribution across the watershed basins of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) lakes. This is to demonstrate the relationship between local rainfall and rainfall averages over an entire lake watershed. Although some locations may experience an inch or greater of rainfall with a particular weather event, the basin average across the entire watershed may be significantly less due to the isolated nature of the rainfall. Thus, the actual amount of water actually feeding into the lake is relatively low.
