Climate Pages Change Coming 26 August

The NWS will be transitioning the NWS local climate data web pages to a new web application on August 26, 2021.

The local climate data web pages are very popular, receiving approximately 20,000 hits/day. The new web application will impact how the public accesses climate data on weather.gov. Tutorials for users and step-through instructions will be made available on the new climate landing page.

NOTE: There will be no changes to the FTP site where the data are derived. No climate observational data products will be discontinued. Also, no changes in the format of the data products will occur.

Although the new climate data webpage is not fully designed, below are images of the new interface compared to the current interface. Transitioning to the new application will allow for a standard look and format on all NWS local climate webpages, which currently we do not have. The content and functionalities will have minimal differences. Climate data users should still be able access the full 5 years of data via the Observed Weather tab.

At this time, the older URL will automatically point to the newer pages.
