September of 2026 started hot and dry across south central and southeast Colorado with upper level ridging in place across the Rockies. Monsoonal moisture worked its way into the region through the middle of the month, while remnants of eastern Pacific Hurricane Polo brought abundant precipitation and cooler temperatures to much of southern Colorado through the end of the month.
