Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain in the Mid-South; Heat Continues in the Southeast and Southwest

Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected across portions of the mid-Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley and portions of Arizona. Dangerous heat persists in the South and Southeast while building into the Southwest. With low temperatures well below freezing across all of South Central and Southeast Colorado during the past 24 hours, the NWS in Pueblo will discontinue issuing frost and freeze highlights for the Fall Season. Frost and freeze highlights will return when the growing season resumes in the spring.
