JAN..A MILD AND DRY START FOR THE YEAR.  AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE
   WAS 3.3 DEG. ABOVE NORMAL.  THIS WAS THE 5TH DRIEST JANUARY WITH
   ONLY .03 PRECIPITATION.  SNOWFALL OF .3 IN MADE THIS THE 3RD LEAST
   SNOWIEST.
FEB..A MID-MONTH SNOW STORM DROPS 4.2 INCHES OF SNOW.  THIS WAS WELL
   BELOW THE MONTHS NORMAL OF 7.1 INCHES, BUT STILL NOT A STORM FOR
   THE RECORD BOOKS. AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURES JUST UNDER NORMAL.
MAR..A HUGE BATCH OF MOISTURE ARRIVED THIS MONTH WITH 2.42 INCHES OF
   LIQUID MOISTURE (NEARLY 3 TIMES NORMAL) IS 3RD WETTEST MARCH. 17.5
   INCHES OF SNOW THIS MONTH WAS 5.4 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL, AND 
   THE 6TH SNOWIEST MARCH.  MONTHLY TEMPERATURE AVERAGE WAS 2.0 DEG.
   BELOW NORMAL.
APR..AND MORE SNOW WITH A TOTAL OF 9.5 INCHES FOR THE MONTH..WELL ABOVE
   NORMAL 4.5 INCHES FOR THE MONTH.  AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURES WAS
   OVER 3.0 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. PEAK WIND GUST OF 56 MPH ON THE 12TH
   IS THE 4TH HIGHEST FOR APRIL.
MAY..WARM AND DRY FOR A CHANGE.  THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 
   58.9 IS 3.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL AND MAKES THIS THE 5TH WARMEST MAY 
   ON RECORD.  NO SNOW THIS MONTH AND PRECIPITATION OF ONLY .72 V/S 2.15 
   NORMAL.
JUN..COOL AND DRY WITH BOTH THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE AND                  
   PRECIPITATION BELOW NORMAL.
JUL..WARM..WET AND THUNDERSTORMS ON 22 OF 31 DAYS. TEMPERATURES WERE
   NORMAL FOR THE MONTH BUT THE 5.26 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION TIES WITH
   1967 AS THE 5TH WETTEST AND IS MORE THAN DOUBLE THE NORMAL OF 2.90. 
AUG..COOL AND DRY CONDITIONS RETURN.  BOTH PRECIPITATION AND THE 
   AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WERE BELOW NORMAL.  PEAK WIND GUST
   OF 51 MPH ON THE 15TH TIES FOR 5TH WINDIEST WITH 1988,1994,1996.
SEP..WARM WITH THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE 5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL
     WHICH TIES WITH 1963 FOR THE 2ND WARMEST MONTH. PRECIPITATION WAS     
    LESS THAN ONE-HALF OF NORMAL.
OCT..THE SEASONS FIRST SNOWFALL. HOWEVER TOTAL SNOW FOR THE MONTH OF
   1.1 INCHES IS LESS THAN NORMAL BUT IS THE 9TH SNOWIEST OCTOBER.
   PRECIPITATION IS SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL AND NORMAL TEMPERATURES WERE    
   NOTED THIS MONTH.
NOV..AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE IS 4 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL WHILE BOTH
   PRECIPITATION AND SNOWFALL WERE BELOW NORMAL.
DEC..AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE..PRECIPITATION AND SNOWFALL ALL WERE
   BELOW NORMAL FOR THE MONTH.  ARCTIC AIR DROPPED TEMPERATURES BELOW
   FREEZING (32DEG.) FOR 134 HOURS BEFORE RECOVERING ON CHRISTMAS DAY.
   PEAK WIND GUST OF 56 MPH ON THE 28TH IS THE 3RD HIGHEST IN DECEMBER.
