Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
342 AM EDT Mon Jun 2 2025

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will maintain control of the weather pattern for the
early half of the week, resulting in mainly dry conditions through
Thursday afternoon. Winds will remain less than 10 mph from the
northwest through today. Sunshine will be abundant, but haziness
is expected due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. Afternoon minimum
RH values are expected to range between 22 and 28 percent given dry
air across the region, however afternoon humidity will increase
daily as the week progresses as winds shift more from the south.
Coverage of rainfall will increase by Friday as a cold front
approaches.
