Severe Thunderstorms in the Northeast and Northern Plains; Critical Fire Weather in the West

Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of damaging wind gusts and hail are forecast across the Northeast U.S. and North Dakota today. Heavy to excessive rainfall is possible over eastern New Mexico into western Texas and over the western Florida peninsula today. Planned maintenance will result in an outage of two NOAA Weather Radio transmitters. The stations affected will be the Forks transmitter station KXI-27 serving Clallam, Jefferson, and Grays Harbor counties as well as the Neah Bay transmitter KIH-36 serving Clallam and Jefferson counties. Maintenance will begin on the morning of Tuesday, October 6, and may extend as late as noon Wednesday, October 7. We apologize for any inconvenience.
