Heavy Rain in the Southeast and Portions of the Central Plains; Mountain Snow in the West

Scattered areas of heavy rain continue to produce isolated flash flooding across the coastlines of the central Gulf and Southeast. A storm system will bring mountain snow, locally heavy rain, gusty winds and much cooler temperatures to portions of the western and central U.S. Above average temperatures will advance eastward into the Great Lakes and Northeast today and Monday. A Coastal Flood Warning and a High Surf Warning continues in effect for the northern exposed beaches of Puerto Rico. Widespread flooding of vulnerable coastal areas is expected, with the highest risk at high tide. Significant beach erosion, dangerous surf, and life-threatening rip currents will continue, along with hazardous conditions for small craft. The public is urged to stay out of the water, follow flag warnings, and remain on land. ⚠️ These conditions are expected through at least this evening.
📅 October 5, 2025 · A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for the Local Atlantic Waters, Mona Passage, and Anegada Passage until midnight AST Monday. Hazardous seas will increase the risk of incidents for small vessels. 🌀Tropical Weather Outlook - 8 AM, October 5, 2025 AL95: A broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear conducive for additional development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to form this week, approaching portions of the Leeward Islands by the latter part of this week.
