Due to increased moisture from Hurricane Lorena, A Flood Watch is in effect from 12 PM Friday through 5 PM Saturday. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 in with up to 4 in possible leading to flash flooding, running washes and rivers and gusty winds.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop over areas of Santa Cruz and Pima counties today. Any thunderstorm may produce heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding. Never drive through flooded roadways.
Hurricane Lorena will approach Baja through the end of the week, but considerable uncertainty exists in the track as it potentially moves towards Sonora and southeastern Arizona. Moisture associated with this system as well as ahead of it may bring heavy rain and flash flooding threats to the region Thursday through Saturday. Keep up to date with the forecast this week!
