Severe thunderstorms are likely today across the northern Plains and into the upper Mississippi Valley. Gusty winds and dry conditions will result in widespread critical fire weather through Saturday across parts of the Four Corners region and the Great Basin. Hot, dry, & windy conditions will bring increased fire danger to portions of southern Nevada and northwest Arizona over the next few days. Make sure to obey all fire restrictions, never recreate with sparks near dry brush, and check that you aren't dragging chains behind your car.
A low pressure system will push into the region over the next few days, bringing gusty winds to area today and tomorrow. As such, we have multiple wind headlines in effect for portions of southeast California, southern Nevada, and northwest Arizona.
