Precipitation will persist across central & eastern New Mexico through late morning. Snow levels will generally range between 4,500 and 6,500 feet with additional accumulations as high as 4 inches between 10am and Noon.
Very cold temperatures are in store today thanks to a late season storm system. Most areas will be 20 to 40 degrees below normal!
Snow will become heavy at times this morning, then continue through the afternoon and evening. Strong winds will produce exensive blowing snow with white-out conditions at times.
Moderate and major travel impacts on I-25 from Glorieta Pass to Raton Pass and I-40 from Tijeras to the Texas border.
A widepread freeze or hard freeze is expected across much of northern and central NM tonight. For many lower elevation locales, this is the first freeze since the beginning of the month.
