An upper level weather system will bring the potential for thunderstorms mainly on Thursday and Friday afternoons. These may expand farther south in Mendocino and Lake counties on Friday. Check weather.gov/eka and search for your location and the latest forecast.
A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for portions of Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties Thursday afternoon and evening. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible, bringing new fire starts and gusty and erratic winds which may lead to fires to spread quickly.
Higher than normal tides are likely for the coming days. Low lying areas around Humboldt Bay, including King Salmon, may see minor coastal flooding impacts overnight. Stronger currents within the bay with the incoming and outgoing tides are likely.
