About Our Office

Welcome to the web pages of the National Weather Service's Weather Forecast Office in Tallahassee, FL (NWS WFO TLH). Our office is located to the 4th floor of the Love Building on the Florida State University campus.

We are part of the NWS Southern Region. Our County Warning and Forecast Area includes the Eastern Florida Panhandle, Florida Big Bend, Southeast Alabama, and Southwest and South Central Georgia. In addition to issuing short-fused warnings (tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood) for these areas, our office also issues routine 7-day public forecasts, 5-day marine forecasts, daily and monthly climate reports, and specialized forecasts for our aviation, fire weather and surf communities. We also issue longer-term watches and warnings for hazards such as dense fog, excessive heat, freezes, high winds, wind chill and other winter weather. Finally, we produce a full suite of graphical forecasts.
