Warm temperatures continue into Friday with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Some low 80s possible still for inland areas, while areas by water may get a cooling afternoon sea breeze. Warmer and drier weather pattern expected to last into the weekend.

Monitoring Equipment Status:

The USGS monitoring equipment, the laser data and cameras are working.

Currently both the front and main basin cameras are sending images every 2 hour from 6am to 8pm AKDT.

The USGS installed a overflow channel camera and it is sending images. Images are sent hourly via the cell network but only sends images during low network traffic. The USGS also added a second overflow camera to the left of the current view of the overflow channel with images taken on the same schedule as the front and main basin images.

Mendenhall Lake and River levels have fallen below flood stage and continues to fall.

Mendenhall River Stage | Height:
No Flooding | 7.12 ft and falling

The Mendenhall River crested at 14.7 ft around 2:15 pm on Thursday, August 13th.

Current Basin Status: Release Has Ended
A release from Suicide Basin has ended. Water levels on the USGS laser data and monitoring equipment show that the basin is mostly empty of water. Current water level within Suicide Basin is around 892 ft and steady.
