1996

Large ice jams developed on the Buffalo Creek in West Seneca, Erie county on the 9th. Flooding was localized, near the gage, and was confined mainly to basements and open fields.

2001

Rain combined with warm temperatures to produce ice jam flooding along Cazenovia Creek in West Seneca and Buffalo, Erie County. The initial jam formed in the Parkside Drive/Willowdale Drive area of West Seneca. After several hours, the ice broke loose only to jam further downstream near Cazenovia Park in South Buffalo. Several homes had to be evacuated in West Seneca. The flood waters overflowed streets in both West Seneca and South Buffalo.

2003

A weakening front dropped southeast to the north shore of Lake Ontario just after midnight on the ninth and gradually dissipated. A west to southwest flow ahead of this feature was still cold enough to allow lake effect to develop over the St. Lawrence Valley. The band intensified as it drifted south across northern Jefferson and Lewis counties around daybreak. Watertown received eleven inches of snow and Harrisville reported nine inches.
