JULY 23 1998 An isolated afternoon thunderstorm produced torrential downpours and damaging winds in Niagara county. The thunderstorm winds blew down a utility pole and the attached wires in Hartland. 2003 For the third day in a row, thunderstorms dumped heavy rains on the western southern tier. More flash flooding occurred on area creeks and streams. Roads were washed out or undermined. Several bridges were washed out or damaged. Damage was reported in New Albion, Hinsdale , Olean , Cuba , Allegany, Belmont and Belfast. 2006 Thunderstorms that developed along a lake breeze boundary produced up to one inch hail over parts of the Niagara Frontier during the early afternoon hours.
