JULY 20

1992

Thunderstorm winds downed trees at a camping ground in Angelica in Allegany County. The trees ranged in diameter from four to ten inches.

Thunderstorms also rumbled across parts of the Eastern Lake Ontario counties producing damaging winds and large hail. Numerous trees and power lines were downed and scattered power outages were reported in Oswego, Adams, and Talcottville. Showers and thunderstorms also produced heavy rains across portions of the Western Southern Tier. The rain, falling on already saturated ground, caused flooding to occur. Several roads were covered with water and a bridge was washed out.

2004

An upper level disturbance produced slow-moving thunderstorms along the south shore of Lake Ontario . The thunderstorms produced hail over Niagara , Orleans and Monroe counties. Three-quarter inch hail was reported in Pittsford, Pekin and Sanborn. One-inch hail fell in Ridgeway. The slow moving thunderstorms dropped two to three inches of rain inundating numerous streets in Lewiston.

2006

A cold front crossing during the late afternoon hours brought thunderstorms to the region. The storms reached severe limits over parts of the Finger Lake region. Trees and wires were downed in Lakeville. In the Ontario county town of Seneca, the thunderstorm winds damaged several buildings, blew down a silo, demolished a historic barn and uprooted numerous trees. A funnel was seen with the storm however a damage survey determined the damage was a result of downburst winds. Over a thousand were left without power from the storm.
