Thunderstorms moved across the western Southern Tier counties. In the town of Dayton, Chautauqua county, lightning struck four children causing serious injuries to two. High winds, hail, and lightning left power line and tree damage strewn over sections of Cattaraugus county especially near Cherry Creek.
