Heavy Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorm Threats for the Plains and Southeast

A frontal boundary extending from the western High Plains to the Southeast will focus additional showers and thunderstorms this weekend. Some of these storms may become severe, alongside frequent lightning, and isolated instances of flash flooding. High winds at the Small Boat Harbor in Buffalo resulted in 24 crafts being sunk or damaged by the wind whipped waters. At the Buffalo Airport, a peak gust of 45 mph was recorded.

2001

A line of thunderstorms crossed Jefferson county during the early afternoon hours. Jefferson county Sheriffs reported power and phone lines down by the thunderstorm winds in Henderson.
