Above Normal Temperatures, Strong Thunderstorms, Tropical Development Being Monitored

Well above normal temperatures are forecast to shift from the northern Plains through the Northeast U.S. over the long holiday weekend. A few strong to severe thunderstorm will be possible as well along with a potential for excessive rainfall. Get your Hourly Weather Forecast from the NWS!

NWS’s Hourly Weather Graph feature is one of the most informative, yet underutilized, features available on our forecast websites. Our new, easy-to-use guide, however, will have you using this feature on your computer or access hourly forecasts on your mobile device in no time. With simple step-by-step instructions, it provides all the information you need to get hour-by-hour forecasts for your location directly from NWS.

 

Here is how you can find the hourly graphs:

First, go to our website, www.weather.gov/duluth.

There you will see a map of the northland.  Click any location on the map (circled in the example below) that you are interested in finding out more.

 
Once you click on a location, another window will open that looks like this:

Scroll down and you will see a picture of the hourly graphs. Click on that and it will take you to the current hourly graphic forecasts. 

The hourly graphs page will look like this:

The graphs depict hourly temperature, wind chill, heat index, dew point, wind, wind gusts, precipitation chances, precipitation types, rainfall amounts, snowfall amounts, sky cover and relative humidty. 

You can chose which elemnts to view and you can go back and forth in time.
