Heat and Fire Weather Concerns in the West; Excessive Rainfall Possible in the South-Central U.S.

Heat will build over the Intermountain West and the Southwest the next couple of days. Lightning from dry thunderstorms can create new fire starts and combined with gusty winds may cause a fire to rapidly grow in Oregon and northern California. Do you notice a yellowish hue to the sky on Monday? Believe it or not, it's from massive forest fires in central and northern Canada! With northwest winds today, the smoke was carried southeastward into the Northland. The smoke is far up in the atmosphere and you may not even be able to smell it, but it is causing the yellowish hue to the sky. Do you see it where you live?
