Winter Skywarn Spotter Training

Returning for 2026 is our winter spotter course! This class includes a review of the 2025-2026 winter weather season, a look at winter weather climatology, examination of winter weather meteorology, NWS winter forecast products and safety, and a review of guidelines & reporting procedure for measuring snow and ice. If you are unable to attend one of our live classes, you are welcome to watch the recording of 2024's class below. Most the content is the same aside from the winter outlook. You do NOT need to be an official spotter for our office to attend - classes are free and open to all. This presentation focuses on northeast Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin, and the wider Great Lakes region, but those outside these are also welcome to watch, too. Registration is required for the virtual classes.
