Extreme Fire Weather Concerns; Severe Thunderstorms from the Plains to Mississippi Valley

Extremely critical fire weather concerns for portions of the southern High Plans as strong wind and very dry conditions could result in rapid spread of any fires. Meanwhile, severe thunderstorms are expected once again across areas of the Central and Southern Plains, then spreading in the Mississippi Valley regions on Monday. The winds and low relative humidity will lead to critical to extreme fire weather conditions this afternoon. We will see winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph today. The winds will be stronger in area mountains. At the same time a very dry airmass will give us min RH's into the teens for most locations.
Winds and dust are back in the forecast today. By this afternoon we will have southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph. The winds will be stronger in area mountains and to the east of the mountains. The strong winds and low RH's will lead to critical to extreme fire weather conditions. The winds will also create areas of blowing dust this afternoon.
