Heat and Fire Weather Concerns in the West

Heat will build over the Intermountain West and the Southwest the next couple of days. Lightning from dry thunderstorms can create new fire starts and combined with gusty winds may cause a fire to rapidly grow in Oregon and northern California. We will be warm again on Monday with highs in the low to mid 90's in the lowlands. Our winds will be light except near area thunderstorms. The thunderstorms will start first in area mountains in the early afternoon and then work their way down into the lowlands by evening.
