Lake Effect Snow through Friday; Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms and Mountain Snow in California

Periods of moderate to heavy lake effect snow will continue through Friday downwind of Lake Erie and Ontario. Several additional inches of accumulating snow are expected. A Pacific storm will bring heavy rain and mountain snow across California, the Southwest and Intermountain West today. A breezy day is expected to start off the New Year. Morning rain showers will continue to push west to east but should exit the area by early afternoon. Otherwise quiet but abnormally warm conditions can be expected.
No matter which way you look at it El Paso had a record setting warm month in December. Only one day had below average temperatures. And we saw the warmest daily average temperature, warmest daily average high temperature and warmest daily average low temperature.
