Hot Weather in the West; Heavy Rainfall and Flooding in the Southwest

Hot to extremely hot temperatures are in place much of this week across parts of California and the interior Northwest U.S, with the Pacific Northwest carrying the potential for record-breaking high temperatures. Tuesday, September 2 is shaping up to be seasonably warm and dry with thunderstorm chances mainly limited to the Gila Wilderness.
A new Tropical Depression has formed off the coast of Mexico. There is some potential for it to bring rainfall to our area next weekend. Stay tuned to the forecast!
We will see our high temperature near or a little above average over the next few days. Then for Friday and Saturday, tropical moisture will spread across the region and that will help keep our afternoon high temperatures a little below average, but the warmer weather returns for the start of next week.
