Thunderstorms and Heavy Rains Across Portions of the Central and Eastern US; Heat Expands to Portions of the East

Widespread showers and thunderstorms, some severe, may produce heavy downpours and flash flooding across much of the eastern and central U.S. Dangerous heat will continue in the Pacific Northwest and expand across portions of the East. The 2017 Austin SKYWARN was held last Saturday, February 11th at the Eastview Campus of Austin Community College. A day of learning all about SKYWARN storm spotting, how to receive your weather information, advances in weather detection, and more! Special guests included multiple speakers from NWS Austin/San Antonio as well as Dr. Kevin Kloesel from the University of Oklahoma and Matt Porcher from the Austin Flood Early Warning System (FEWS) and ATXFloods.org!
