A tornado, rated F2 on the Fujita Scale (wind speeds approximately 113-157 mph), hit the Madison area Tuesday evening, July 11, 2000 at approximately 5:55 PM CDT. The main area that received damage was the Lake County Speedway. Below are some pictures of the tornado damage at the Speedway.

An unanchored garage used to be located on this concrete slab.	The road grader in the background was parked with the blade down, and was moved approximately 50 feet
This pile of lumber is all that remains of a storage shed.	The concrete barriers in the background have been knocked over.
