Tropical Storm and Storm Surge Warnings for the North Carolina Outer Banks; Hot in the Mississippi Valley

Tropical Storm conditions and coastal flooding are possible in the North Carolina Outer Banks beginning late Wednesday. Tropical Storm and Storm Surge Warnings are in effect. Hurricane Erin is expected to bring life threatening surf and rip currents along the East Coast beaches this week. Overview

A cluster of thunderstorms moving northeast produced heavy rainfall along its' path. Before reaching Colby, KS, the cluster shifted more eastward. Embedded within the cluster, a rain-wrapped tornado occurred southeast of Mingo, Kansas. The cluster of storms were otherwise non-severe.
