Heavy rains, flooding, & severe weather are possible across the Plains & Upper Midwest to the upper Great Lakes tonight, with the heavy rain and flooding threat continuing through Friday. Overview

A significant weather event occurred on Friday, December 2nd, 2022. A potent cold front moved across the area, bringing high winds, a wall of dust, and dangerous fire weather conditions. In addition, winds ahead of the front picked up, bringing additional fire weather concerns as well as dust storm conditions. Numerous watches, warnings, and advisories were issued, including High Wind Warnings, Dust Storm Warnings, Blowing Dust Warnings, and Red Flag Warnings.
