Areas of Dangerous Heat and Heavy Rain with Possible Flooding into this Weekend

Hot temperatures and high humidity are forecast to continue across much of northeast Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley into this weekend with heat advisories in effect. Heavy to excessive rainfall occurring at times through Saturday could bring areas of flooding across parts of the central Plains into the upper Midwest/Great Lakes, and Four Corners states. Overview

A significant weather event occurred on Friday, December 2nd, 2022. A potent cold front moved across the area, bringing high winds, a wall of dust, and dangerous fire weather conditions. In addition, winds ahead of the front picked up, bringing additional fire weather concerns as well as dust storm conditions. Numerous watches, warnings, and advisories were issued, including High Wind Warnings, Dust Storm Warnings, Blowing Dust Warnings, and Red Flag Warnings.
