Who: National Weather Service, Goodland, KS / City of Goodland / Sherman County
Where: 920 Armory Road, Goodland, KS 67735
Parking Information: Free parking will be available near the intersection of Caldwell Avenue and Armory Road. Additional information available closer to the event.
Event is weather dependent! If adverse weather is anticipated, the event will be rescheduled and notifications will be sent out days ahead of the Open House.

Food will be available for purchase courtesy of Northwest Kansas Technical College.

Meet Owlie Skywarn, the official safety mascot of the NWS
Issue your own severe thunderstorm or tornado warning
Meteorologists will be available to answer questions you may have about the weather
Provide a look into how a forecast is created
Enjoy brief presentations about what we do here and what weather the High Plains can experience
Take a step inside the fire and severe weather simulation trailer
Learn about weather balloons; a weather balloon release will be performed at 1 p.m. to cap off the day

At Goodland Police Department (formerly the Armory):

You could win a chance to ride in a medical helicopter if you have the winning raffle ticket! Note: if an emergency arises, the helicopter must tend to patients immediately and would be unavailable for rides.
Sherman County Sheriff's "Touch-A-Truck": take a look inside of emergency service vehicles
Rescue and highway equipment will also be available for viewing
Take a tour of the Goodland Police Department
Other public safety information and agencies will be there to keep you prepared
