A wind advisory is in effect for the Mojave Slopes of the Kern County Mountains from 5 PM this afternoon through 11 PM on Friday night. Winds will gust up to 50 mph at times during the event which will make driving difficult.
With the passage of a weak disturbance over Northern California on Thursday May 22nd, strong winds will be generated across Central California. A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Mojave Desert Slopes due to West winds 20 to 30 mph and gusts to 55 mph expected. Areas affected include Walker Pass, Indian Wells Canyon, and CA highways 14, 58, and 178 and US highway 395.
