High Winds

A vigorous area of low pressure produced high winds across the region.

Environment
Radar reflectivity image shows squall line tearing through the Tri State. Double-barrelled low pressure (solid blue lines) lifting north into the Great Lakes produced high winds across the region. The low was supported by a deep 500mb low (yellow dashed lines) tracking through Illinois. Visible satellite image shows swirl of clouds associated with intense low pressure. Surface observations show widespread high winds, as well as heavy snow over Illinois.
